People have been using shelves as a part of the main furniture since long. You can store almost any product in shelves. But mostly we can find books and picture frames in the shelves. Not only these, shelves are being increasingly used for storage of many other items as people realize that shelves offer an effective and convenient way of storing household and personal items. Apart from inherent advantage of storage, they add to the décor of any room. House clutter is a challenge that is faced by many houses and offices. Disorganized items thrown around the room or a pile of not so often used items goes to create clutter.

These can be anything like books, DVDs, magazines, shoes, carvings, socks, picture frames and other items. Especially this clutter is formed in large quantities at places where there are children.Because it is believed that children are less tend towards arranging the items in a room in an organized manner. An easy and effective way of getting rid of clutter is to have shelves, which are being increasingly patronized at homes and offices as they are a good option for storage. And there are many glass wall shelf units to choose from. Glass and wood are the two most often used materials for making of shelves.

Nevertheless, wooden shelves are more popular and one reason for that is they are affordable. Abundance of trees that give us wood makes it cheaper to have shelves in wood. It is indeed disheartening to learn that tress are being cut despite our knowing that their cutting is causing deforestation. Despite the warnings of environmentalists and a strong criticism of using trees for making items of mass consumption, the consumption of wooden shelves is not showing any signs of coming down. So you decide are wooden shelf units better. This is also because wood easily blends with rest of the furniture in a room. Some of things, like chairs or a seating arrangement that you notice on entering a house comprise of wood. As wooden shelves naturally blend with the furniture of a room, they are a preferred lot.
