Can Misting Your A/C Lower Your Energy Bills? What about Magnetic Generators?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I am constantly wanting for the next new “green” factor to boost my life, and after all, the lives of others.  One factor that has been in the rear of my mind lately is the rising cost to power my home.Crazy, Eh!  I dread the summer and having to see those bills from the local electricity supplier appear in my mailbox like very little grim reapers desperate to attack my bank account.  Nonetheless, when the summertime is among us, and the temperature outside is hot enough to, literally, melt a CD case in my car – I’m turning on that good old energy sucking machine within the backyard – The Air-Conditioner.

Now I have come across this show on cable that for 30 minutes show regular individuals such as you and I a way to convert their homes into energy economical, low-carbon footprint, and overall “green” method of living.  One item I chanced on was one thing that I set up on implementing at my home this summer.  It’s known as “Cool-N-Save” .  As described on their website: “It’s a system that you put in yourself and it rests on top of your A/C unit.  hot air from the condenser unit’s fan raises the flap on the patented Cool-n-Save™ control valve allowing water to flow to the misters that surround the AC unit. When the ultra-fine mist is released into the air, it evaporates nearly instantly making what’s known as a “Flash Evaporation,” which literally sucks heat out of the air as water absorbs the energy it desires to evaporate. The results of the immediate evaporation constitutes a substantial drop in ambient temperature while not wetness—up to thirty degrees Fahrenheit”.  The boast a savings of 30% of the electricity required to power the unit.  Freaking awesome!  I can’t wait to put in in and strive it.  I encourage any feedback you all may have with this item from your experiences with it.

I have yet another thing to mention.  So I came accross a writing boasting: Reality: Magnetic Generators that create a hundred% FREE Electricity have been utilized by the Power Companies for years. However, they keep this hidden from you so that you retain on paying your electricity Bills.  Thus, like I’m sure you would like to do – I scan it.  This is something that caught my eye!  They any describe, “When everything’s complete, you’ll have enough free-flowing energy…that operates alone to lightweight-up your entire house. Stop being raped by the energy power companies! You deserve FREE reusable energy to heat or cool your home, light-weight-up your house and operate your home appliances”.  Has anyone heard about this product?  Do you have got reviews, experiences, etc. about this one, or others like it?

Living Green Can Make a Difference

Green living: how to make a positive contribution to the life of our planet. As the saying goes, every little bit helps, and this is especially true when it comes to the individual making small lifestyle changes that will benefit both themselves and the environment. These few simple ideas for green living are easy to put into your lifestyle. Green living refers to a type of lifestyle that has the welfare of the Earth and local environment in mind.

A green living lifestyle aims to reduce the release of carbon, which is contributing to global warming, but also reduces waste, toxins in the air and water and over-use of natural resources. Save money and become more healthy by implementing these green strategies.

To help reduce carbon emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, there are several changes you can make. Find other ways to travel instead of jumping in your car. Try taking public transport a few days a week or starting a car pool. Improve your health by walking more or cycling. So, improve your health and help to save the planet at the same time.

CFLs are compact fluorescent light bulbs which use less power to produce more light, so change over the bulbs on your home to save money and the environment. You won’t need to replace the CFLs as often and they save about 70% of power as well. You can save about $50 by replacing just 5 of your incandescent bulbs, so imagine the savings if you changed all of them? Switch all appliances off at the socket when they are not being used.

Improve the health of the environment and your body by eating more plant foods; plants remove carbon for the atmosphere and store it in the soil. This is another way to help both your health and that of the environment. Cattle are detrimental to the environment by compacting the soil and producing methane gas. Poultry and fish have little impact on the planet and they are better for your health than red meat.

Remember the 3 Rs of reducing your environmental impact; reduce, recycle, reuse. Plastic comes from oil and oil supplies are being depleted, so try to limit your use of plastics in the home. Collect some reusable cloth bags for your shopping and leave the plastic ones in the store. Reduce how much paper you use in your work and at home. Recycling plastic containers keeps them out of landfill, so try to come up with new ideas for their use.

Reduce your water usage at home and at work. Have shorter showers by reducing the time under the water by only 2 minutes and save water. When using water, only turn the faucet a little to prevent wasting water. Collect the rinse water from your washing machine to water your plants. Research ways to reduce the impact of your home on the environment; consider planting trees, installing solar heating and hot water and using blinds to control the temperature.

These few strategies will get you started on making changes that will benefit the environment. You can learn about many other ways you can help both the environment and your own well-being and health. Kids have great ideas, so get them involved in your new green living lifestyle.

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

So many things are now going green and now the mobile phone is set to hit the market too.

All electrical appliances with the energy star are already deemed to be green and of course you have the option of going green when it comes to the car thanks to the hybrid. However, when purchasing your next mobile, will there be an option for somebody who is passionate about saving the world?

Well unbelievably there now is and it comes in the form of Samsung and Sprint teaming up. Unbelievably the new phone is made from corn and is made up by using 80% recyclable materials. It seems strange that this hasn’t been done before now? Now that most people in the developed world seem to own at least one mobile phone, it seems crazy why this sort of phone hasn’t been released earlier!

The phone charger itself has the energy star on it and some of the applications on the phones are even put on there beforehand to make you a greener person. Pre-loaded apps from the Discovery Channel are placed on there to help turn you into a greener person. There also happens to be a glossary on there explaining things on climate changes.

This isn’t it for this phone, it is also a smartphone that has GPS, Web browsing and speech recognition. It also shows something else, technology seems to be leaping forward at an alarming rate.

Of course it doesn’t just have to stop on the phone, you can buy so many different things for the home that are green and eco-friendly now whether that is eco kitchen accessories as well as eco bathroom accessories So whatever eco friendly furnishings you are looking to change there is always something out there for you to choose. It makes you wonder what they will think of next. Wonderful as technology is, we wonder where it might all end?

Environmentally friendly option available to all of us

Saturday, July 25th, 2009

Going green has been pushed in most country worldwide.” Homes are traditionally known as energy cows. By wasting electricity or water will in turn wast money and reserves. Going green can help not only the world but the homeowner as well. Insulation comes standard with most of all new build homes, always make sure this has been set up correctly by the builders.

If you have an older home this may not be the case. Insulation was not generally added to homes built before the 1940’s. Homeowners with an older home should check to see if their home is insulated.

The most common type of insulation is cavity wall insulation. Insulation is usually injected into the buildings wall cavity. The gap between the two outside walls. Insulation will stop the conduction of heat into or out of your home and save the power you have traditionally used to heat or cool your home. Sometimes heat insulation in countries such as Japan,

America, and the UK is funded by local power companies, so homeowners are urged to contact their power provider before installing insulation. Turning Out the Lights Another simple way to save the environment and homeowners’ money is buy turning out the lights. More and more people are turning to the option of solar panels to help them save the planet and money.

Homeowners have been told for years that turning out lights when they leave a room will greatly reduce their power bills. But how many homeowners follow this advice? surveys have been carried out which show that people do not turn out the lights when they leave a room. It is a real shame that more and more people do not turn of the lights in their home when not being used as this will save money and energy. Always research the information you require as there are thousands of energy reviews, home energy review may be the one you need to look at.

Most families do not use the majority of rooms in their homes. If they could turn out the lights in these rooms they could cut their power bills by 25 percent. Turning On the Lights Of course, you cannot live in the dark and you must have your lights on sometime.

Companies have recognized this need to balance the use of electricity and the need to preserve the environment and are now producing environmentally friendly light bulbs. These bulbs use a smaller percentage of electricity every time they are on in the home. These will last much longer and will produce lower waste levels.

Don’t forget to Flush Water bills rank right up there with power bills when it comes to both homeowners’ expenses and protecting the environment. The bathroom is well know room for a very high percentage of water waste.

Along with things homeowners and their families can do to save water, like not running water while brushing teeth, there are devices on the market to help save water in the bathroom.

Several companies are making low flow shower heads that reduce the amount to water that comes from the shower every time it is turned on. These shower heads are inexpensive and easy for the homeowner to install. Toilets also waste water and devices can be purchased and installed that lower the flow and fill level in all toilets. Having these products installed will reduce the wastage of water.

There are a number of options available which will help you become more environmentally friendly. Why now start by recycling. Check out the recycling facts you will be suprised.
