They take flowers to someone who is in the hospital because of feeling unwell. Why do they do that? Flowers can be used for various different reasons. All flowers have significance and meanings and if you go to your local Birmingham florists they will be able to tell you all about different meanings. Red roses are for love. White roses represents the purity of your love. A yellow rose represents friendship. Oranges roses have the same meaning as yellow roses. Pink roses means giving away with love.

There are not only roses with meanings there are other flowers who have meanings too. Flowers such as apple blossom, cosmos, camellia, aster, daisy and hibiscus have all got meanings.

Below is the list of some flowers with different meanings.

Aster means pleasure

Apple blossom signifies guarantee

Camellia means kindness

Daisy means purity or innocence

Cosmos means peaceful

Hibiscus means faint love

Gardenia means joy

Striped means refusal

Begonia means thinking deeply

Jasmine means stylish

Lilac means first ever true love

Marigold means desire for riches

Poppy means giving

Orchid means soft beauty

Pink rose means friendship

Red rose means adoring love

Red and white rose means agreement

The meaning for white rose is transparency

Pink tulip means caring

There are several other flowers that have meanings and please feel free to add some which I have missed out. Flowers are seasonal they also have meanings for months for example carnation is for people who were born in January, daisy is for April and rose is for June. I don’t have much knowledge on this yet but I will surely be doing some research on this for my next post.

Some people might not have thought about this but flowers can certainly be very interesting.

Most people enjoy sitting in their gardens and even using them to grow their own vegetables.  Unfortunately many of us live in areas where the soil conditions are less than suitable for growing either of these sorts of plants.  Many people’s gardens have just suffered years of abuse that have left the soil compacted down and have become overrun with weeds.  You can avoid these problems with raised garden beds that will give your garden a fresh lease of life.

A raised garden bed is a container of soil that can be maintained easily.  A raised bed allows gardeners to work at a more up right level which is great for people with back problems and they are flexible in terms of shape and size.  You could also have a raised garden bed that is built into your garden using wooden fancing or bricks.  The other option is to have one that you can move at different times of the year or if you fancy a change.

Whether you are choosing to grow vegetables and herbs or just flowers then a raised bed will be a good solution.  The reason that they are better for growing is because the soil is less compacted and therefore allows more water and minerals through.  You will see some fantastic results if you’re growing flowers in a bed as they will be up to the same standard as those you get from garden centers or a local flower shop.  If you choose to try growing your own vegetables in a raised bed the soil composition will be a big benefit for you.  your home grown vegetables will benefit from the mixture of top soil and compost combined with excellent drainage through the bed.  It is also easy to control the environment that you are growing your own vegetables in, which is a great advantage.  You can remove any small weeds as soon as they appear as well as being able to control insects by planting companion herbs and vegetables.

When you decide to install a bed in your garden it is important to remember a few things that will help you to get the best results from your seeds.  You want your raised garden bed to get the most amount of sunshine possible.  You want to try and position the bed so that it is facing north so that it gets the maximum amount of sunlight.  They can also become dried out easily so it is important to monitor the moisture level of the soil.  You will probably find that you will need to moderately water the bed in the morning and evening.  It is also a good idea to create channels between your rows of vegetables this will help to prevent any areas from flooding during heavy rainfall.
